Learning does not happen in isolation. There are many people that I collaborate, share ideas, reflect and or experience lesson planning with. The following people have either directly or indirectly affected my teaching and learning practices. I would like to thank each one of them for investing in me so that I can invest in my students.

Academic staff: 

- Mark Kramer for his excel,website and statistical advise together with his constant support for but yet critical reflections on the work I have conducted

- Prof Walter for introducing me to lecturing, the Move-it Moving Matters program, the Passport to health project and always being willing to collaborate and share knowledge.

- Eunice Champion for the constant support during my CTLM certification process and her facilitation in introducing me to the world of scholarship of teaching

- Ronelle Plaatjies for facilitating me in the transformation of my modules to a more student centered and humanizing approach

- Dr du Randt for sharing her knowledge on engaging students on an emotional level and sharing her reflections of her years of teaching experience in the field with me

- Dr Kathija Yassim for her out-of-the-box thinking, student centered approach, passion for learning and complete transparency in sharing her teaching and learning journey

- Shona Ellis for her critical reflection on my administration of my large classes, interction with my students and the content provided

- Dr Johannes Hermien and Simon Goldstone for supporting me through my blended learning journey

- The South African University Physical and Education Association for the ​collaborative effort towards identifying the status of physical education in South Africa. In so doing our reflections together and what I've been exposed to within the Eastern Cape school setting has contributed toward my understanding of first year readiness 

- Prof Watson and Prof Pretorius for the constant motivation, mentorship and or support in balancing my teaching and doctorate work within the NGI program

- Robin Notshulwana, as a fellow Foundation Phase lecturer, for her support and encouragement together with critical reflection on my teaching strategies

- Noelle Pearson for providing me with the opportunity to experience physical education in a higher socio-economic setting

- The Move-it Moving Matters founder, Dr Claire Nicolson and the teachers from the seven schools I worked at for the 3 years experience in lower socio-economic community schools

Teaching and Development Innovative Funding (TDIF) Grant

To Prof Foxcroft and the TDIF funding committee, thank you for providing the funding which made it possible for me to implement my mentorship program, create authentic learning experiences at schools for students and to upgrade my physical education content to include internationally sourced video footage
